Pete Rose 1976
This Pete Rose 1976 used bat was specially made for the Hit King. It was sent to him during the World Series…You can see two different colour ball marks.. One black from the National League games and one blue from the American league games. This one also has some red paint marks on the barrel and my first thought was bat rack marks but in looking more closely, it would seem that they are marks from either Pete’s red striped Adirondack bats or even other players bats as others also used red striped Rawlings bats. It has been cleaned of the pine tar that was once on the handle, a typical Rose trait. Also shows use on both sides with stitch Impressions and ball marks. You can see how quickly Louisville wanted Pete to have this stick in his hands as the lathe marks are on both ends of the bat. That is rarely seen on bats from this era.
