Dave Winfield 1981 New York Yankees Game Used Bat

Adirondack model DW20 Dave Winfield professional model bat exhibits evidence of excellent use with a very slight handle crack. Several ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the right and back barrel. Ball marks include white leather scuffs. Cleat marks can be seen on the handle with a heavy coat of pine tar on the handle. The model number is DW20, order number 136 and year 1 are stamped on the knob. The wight 34 is written on the knob in black ink. Graded 9. Great Yankees bat of this Hall of Fame player in the prime of his career, 1981.

Dave Winfield is a former Major League Baseball player. He is the only person to have been drafted by teams in Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, the American Basketball Association, and the National Football League. He decided upon a career in baseball and parlayed that choice into a spot in the Baseball Hall of Fame, having amassed 3,110 hits, 465 home runs, 1,833 runs batted in (RBIs), and a .283 lifetime batting average in a 22-year MLB career.  Winfield played for six teams: the San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, California Angels, Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins, and Cleveland Indians. He had the winning hit in the 1992 World Series with the Blue Jays. Winfield is a 12-time MLB All-Star, a seven-time Gold Glove Award winner, and a six-time Silver Slugger Award winner. Throughout his career in baseball, Winfield was a key representative advocating for players salaries and benefits. Today, he is an advisor to Executive Director of the Major League Baseball Players Association where he plays an active role in advising athletes about their rights, protections, and benefits.

In 2004, ESPN named him the third-best all-around athlete of all time in any sport and in 2006 he was an inaugural inductee into the College Baseball Hall of Fame.
