1953 Ted Williams Game Used Bat Boston Red Sox

Ted Williams game used bat pinpointed to the 1953 season as evident by the small area on the Louisville oval that has a blemish on it from the factory. The plate they used to burn in the label had a small imperfection. This was corrected during the world series and going forward. Ted was shot down in Korea while flying a mission as a US fighter pilot but managed to land his plane safely. He then returned to finish off the season For the Red Sox. This bat is pounded with use. Amazing amount of seem and ball marks dent and darken both sides of the barrel as Williams was known to hit with both sides of his bats. The left side has one of the most amazing features we've seen on a bat from the splendid splinter. It was known the he and other players would melt resin into the grains of the bat to make it harder and preserve them for prolonged use. This practise can be seen on the left barrel making this a favourite bat of Williams to be sure. Period 9 on the knob in black paint over the model number W166 with 32 in pencil for 32 ounces, done at the factory.
